It looks like LG may have a new device planned for its Optimus range, this new smartphone has been codenamed the LG Optimus Big, and as the name suggests it will feature a 4.3 inch display.
The Display will apparently use LG’s NOVA display technology, which is found in the smaller LG Optimus Black, and it will apparently launch in Korea next month.

The Droid 2 has been making its rounds as we inch closer and closer to launch (and – strangely enough – Verizon hasn’t made a formal announcement this close to the rumored launch date. We usually see them spill the beans a week ahead of time) and that trend continues with this full page ad that’s been showing up in various newspapers.
There’s nothing entirely special to see here: the latest Droids are lined up beneath the unreleased Motorola Droid 2 with a hint of availability: we should see the device “coming soon”. Oh, and we’re also urged to rule our empire with iron thumbs with these devices, but I’m just not sure if I can undergo such a transition. I like my flesh… well maybe I can give up just one of my thumbs for any of these.
We’ve also been treated to some early pricing details from Best Buy. As they usually price these types of devices, the Droid 2 will be available through them for $199.99 after a two-year agreement and $599.99 if you want to walk out with no contract to fiddle around with. The prices may vary if you’re buying straight from Motorola or Verizon (or any other third party retailer).
Stuck with an HTC HD2 but really wishing it was an HTC EVO 4G? You can get closer than ever by replacing that tired version of WinMo with Android, and thanks to the HTC Linux team you’ll now get a properly functioning touch screen. The release (also supporting other variants of Linux such as Ubunutu) isn’t quite stable, but soon enough your “practically an EVO” might just be running Android well enough to fool even the most discerning cell phone connoisseurs at a quick glance.
Pretty soon, we’re going to have to start reporting that all smartphones have gotten a port of Android 2.2! This time, hackers have disregarded the fantastic operating system that Maemo is and planted the latest version of Android on one of Nokia’s current flagship devices, the Nokia N900.
Everything isn’t perfect – the device can’t quite catch a network signal, you need to manually configure the IP address settings for WiFi, it’s quite laggy to the touch (just as the iPhone’s Android port) and the SD card can’t be mounted – but development is always moving along. Hit the play button on the video above for the 6-minute demonstration.
Take that keyboard-only shot of the Droid 2 we saw last week, and the blurry face shot we saw yesterday. Put’em together. What do you get? Proper, mostly blur-free spyshots of the next Droid, keyboard and all.
In addition to unearthing these shots, the folks over at Droid-Life also managed to pull together some specs.
What they’re hearing so far:
Android 2.1
3.7″ Screen
750Mhz OMAP Processor
WiFi (with tethering support)
8 GB internal storage
8GB microSD card included
5 megapixel camera
Alas, it has its caveats: It seems to be running Motoblur — which, depending on your stance, could be a good or bad thing. There’s no front facing camera, which is quickly becoming a pretty standard feature on higher-end smartphones. Finally, unlike the still-only-rumored Shadow, there’s no HDMI output.
All in all, it doesn’t seem like a massive departure from the original Droid, but more of a marginal improvement with some much welcome polish. If nothing else, them getting rid of the terrible D-Pad makes it all worth it.
Droid-Life also got their hands on the nifty little clip below, showing the Droid 2 booting to life — but unfortunately, that’s where it ends. For a few more shots, head over toDroid-Life .
